The Weather was perfect we had 25 teams competing for thousands of dollars in prizes and gifts and on top of all that, we had things come down to the last set of questions in the last round. Here are the results from "The Riddle" 2008
1st Place - Baltimore Blowfish 1,040 points (Teams Wirez and Guiness from the original Quizzo! Venue Maynard's on the Bay in Margate, NJ) $1,000 Grand Prize
2nd Place - Wolfpack - 1,030 points (tie break) These guys started playing at Chickie's and Pete's and have dominated the competition there, they won 2nd place via tiebreaker with the legendary "Dream Team"
3rd Place - The Dream Team 1,030 points - controversy over one answer marred their 3rd place finish but no one can deny these guys are at the very top of the Trivia world. Congrats guys! Other round winners included:

| Tickets for "The Riddle" NTA's Trivia Finals go on sale today for qualified teams (YOU MUST ENTER THE GIVEN PASSWORD IN THE "DISCOUNT CODE" SECTION IN ORDER TO BUY TICKETS, IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE QUALIFIED, PLEASE EMAIL info@nationaltrivia.com to request the appropriate password. You should have been granted the password by your host to purchase tickets. General admission will begin May 14th for all teams who wish to play but have not qualified. Tickets are on a first come first serve basis. You must purchase tickets FOR EVERY MEMBER OF OUR TEAM (minimum 5 members per team maximum 10). If you wish to compete with less than 5 members you must purchase the equivalent of 5 tickets to gain admission. The Event will be Saturday June 7th at Bally's Hotel and Casino Beach Bar. Here are the rules for the Ivy Division: 5 Rounds 1) Entertainment 2) Picture Round 3) Geography/History/Sports 4) Name That Tune 5) General Knowledge The Top 5 Teams each night will have their scores averaged. That average will represent each venue's entry into the competition. For Example: Lets say this is Princeton's top 5 team scores: Team 1 - 600 Team 2 - 580 Team 3 - 570 Team 4 - 550 Team 5 - 510 The Total Average Score for Princeton will be 600+580+570+550+510 / 5 = 562 Teams that score in the top 5 will also be assigned the following point totals: 1st Place - 100 points 2nd Place - 75 Points 3rd Place - 50 Points 4th Place 25 Points 5th Place - 10 Points The top 5 team point total from February 4th until June 1st will be eligible for the finals Friday & Saturday Nights in Atlantic City, NJ June 6th and 7th. | The Ivy Division of Quizzo! Launches. The National Trivia Association is proud to announce the start of the Ivy Division of Quizzo! On Monday January 7th the first Quizzo Pub trivia game was held at the Triumph Brewery in Princeton, New Jersey. 10 teams competed in the first ‘warm up’ event ‘ held at triumph with the top team “ Team Sliz” taking home the $25 Triumph gift card. On Tuesday New Haven was the scene for the opening of the Yale Representative game at the Black Bear Saloon. Great crowd with 8 teams competing, congratulations to the winning team “The Gary’s”. Starting Monday the 14th folks at Harvard University (and the Cambridge Community) will be able to get in on the action by playing Quizzo at The Tavern in the Square (Porter Square). Beginning Monday the 28th of January Brown will get in on the action by hosting their first Quizzo game at Spats Sports Bar in Providence, RI. Penn, Cornell, Columbia and Dartmouth start times and locations are not yet finalized however all games are expected to start in time for the February 4th official competition Kick off. |
